The family of Tamale Mirundi has unveiled a final program for his burial.

Tamale Mirundi has reportedly left behind a burial plan that seems to come straight out of a local drama. In a recent revelation, Mirundi, known for his lively media presence and multiple marriages, has detailed how he wishes to be laid to rest. His final wishes include a bit of house hopping, a few cows, and a celebration that sounds like it could be the next big thing in Ugandan party planning.

Mirundi’s will outlines his desire to spend two days in each of his three wives’ homes before he’s finally laid to rest. He has requested a cow to be slaughtered in each house as the ultimate family reunion, with beef as the guest of honor.

Tamale Mirundi, the proud husband of three wives, has a notable family tree that includes Tamale Mirundi Jr., who frequently graced the media with his presence. The public is familiar with Junior’s mother, one of the three wives Mirundi has introduced in the media spotlight. However, Mirundi has maintained a low profile about his other two wives, whose lives remain shrouded in mystery.

In his unique style, Mirundi expressed his affection for his three wives, stating that he wanted to feel their love even in death.

Additionally, Mirundi wished for a posthumous celebration involving beer and partying. He wanted people, particularly those from the market where he was a familiar face, to have a chance to see him one last time.

It remains unclear if Mirundi’s elaborate burial wishes will be fulfilled, as he passed away yesterday and new official arrangements have been announced.

Tamale Mirundi’s Modified Burial Plans

The family of Tamale Mirundi has unveiled a final program for his burial, and it seems not all of his extravagant wishes will be fulfilled. Mirundi’s grand plans have been scaled down to a more manageable itinerary, leaving some of his more ambitious desires unfulfilled.

Contrary to his original wish to spend two days at each of his wives’ homes, Mirundi will only be taken to the residences of two wives, located in Kyengera and Zana, before making his final journey to the village for burial.

Here’s how the program unfolds:

Wednesday, August 14, 2024: The journey begins with a vigil and mass at the Zana residence. This is a bit like setting the stage for a major event, where the opening scenes are held at home base before moving on to the main attractions.

Thursday, August 15, 2024: The body will be transported to St. Gyaviira Catholic Church in Bunamwaya for a requiem mass at 10:00 AM. Afterward, it returns to the Zana residence for an overnight vigil. Think of this as the grand rehearsal before the main event, with a bit of a homecoming flavor.

Friday, August 16, 2024: The body will then be moved to the Kyengera residence for a mass at 10:00 AM, followed by another overnight vigil. It’s the second act of the local tour, ensuring that the final respects are paid at another key location.

Saturday, August 17, 2024: The journey continues to Kalagala Village in Kaliisizo, Rakai District, for an overnight vigil. It’s like taking the show on the road, with the village hosting the penultimate stop before the grand finale.

Sunday, August 18, 2024: The burial ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM in Kalagala Village, marking the end of the journey. It’s the final curtain call in a series of events that honor Mirundi’s life and contributions.

While Tamale Mirundi’s original burial plan was as ambitious as a high profile Ugandan festival, the actual arrangements are more modest.
