Obongi Church Hosts Special Prayers for RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka’s Anti-Corruption Efforts

Obongi, Uganda – The St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish Obongi, Arua Diocese, today held special prayers for the Obongi RDC, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, in recognition of his exemplary role in fighting corruption in Obongi.

In a mass led by the Parish Priest of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish Obongi, Arua Diocese, Rev. Father Andama David, corruption in Uganda, and specifically in Obongi, was condemned for its negative impact on development.




Father Andama, who was the main celebrant at the special mass, thanked Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka for his bold and open fight against corruption.




The priest prayed to God to protect Mr. Hashaka and to continue using him to help liberate Obongi district from corruption.




Rev. Father Andama David emphasized that corruption must be fought without compromise and in a transparent manner.

He garnered applause from the congregation as he praised the RDC and encouraged him to increase the pace of his fight against corruption.

The priest elicited laughter from the church when he shared that corrupt individuals in Obongi did not even hesitate to exploit the Catholic Church during the installation of solar systems at the church and schools by carrying out shoddy work and deviating from the Bill of Quantities (BOQs).




Father Andama pointed out that corruption has led to substandard work in various sectors, including roads, health centers, water, and education.

Rev. Father Andama, who described Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka as a God-fearing and dedicated citizen, assured him that the Church would join him in the fight against corruption.
