Obongi Officials in Trouble: RDC Orders Arrest Over Assault Allegations

Obongi, Uganda – There was drama in Palorinya sub-county, Obongi district, as two civil servants were beaten by a group of over thirty people at the sub-county headquarters, with reasons suspected to be on leadership struggle.

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Obongi, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, has ordered the arrest of Palorinya councilor and sub-county chief for theft of over 7 million shillings, assault of civil servants, and vandalism of government property in Palorinya sub-county, Obongi district.




Hashaka gave the directive to the OC Base camp Refugee settlement during an emergency security meeting after the Palorinya sub-county chief Morudrale and Parish chief Ubbi Parish, Vuciri Albert, led over 30 hooligans to attack the Palorinya sub-county headquarters, where they beat two civil servants and a baby, vandalized sub-county property which included motorcycles, cupboards, and stole over Seven (7) million shillings.




The RDC, who was accompanied by the new Obongi district vice chairman, Hon. Okunzi Louis Drale, and senior ACAO Job Tabu, directed the OC Base camp SP Lutalo Ronald to immediately arrest all the suspects whom he referred to as thugs and pigs who got involved in attacking the sub-county headquarters.




The thugs, led by the Ag sub-county chief Morudrale Thomas and Councilor Vuciri, attacked technical staff during the 1st technical planning committee meeting chaired by the new sub-county chief of Palorinya sub-county, Mr. Odda Anthony.

They used hoes, axes, and sticks to beat the civil servants and chased them from their offices.

The Obongi RDC, Hasaka Samuel, assured the technical staff and politicians of protection and security.
