One Fake Academic Paper Detected in Obongi District During Police Recruitment

Obongi District, Uganda – Obongi District has successfully concluded the police recruitment exercise, during which 21 shortlisted Probationer Police Constables underwent interviews.

The recruitment, held at Obongi Central Police Station (CPS), was led by Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Logistics and Engineering, Lauben Mbamanya.

He was assisted by the Deputy Regional Police Commander for North West Nile, Abas Kayondo; the District Police Commander (DPC) for Obongi, SP Graciano Nkurunziza; the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka; and the Assistant RDC, Umuhoza Habiba Furaha, among others.

During the exercise, one man was arrested for presenting fake academic documents. Additionally, two of the shortlisted candidates mysteriously failed to appear and did not attend the interviews.

The recruitment team expressed gratitude to the district leadership for their full cooperation throughout the process.

RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka thanked the government for bringing services closer to the people by conducting the recruitment exercise within Obongi District—unlike in the past, when candidates had to travel to Moyo District.

He also commended the Uganda Police Force for a job well done during the recruitment process in Obongi.
