Obongi Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, and the Deputy RDC of Amuru District, Proscovia Acham, have rescued two accident victims after their vehicle overturned on the Gulu-Pabbo-Atiak road.
The accident happened after one Icama Herbert, driving vehicle UBF 847Z, hit potholes at Pawel Langeta Trading Center, Amuru District, lost control, and overturned the car, which was completely destroyed.
Icama, who was driving with a female passenger, one Catherine, both sustained severe injuries and were rescued by the wanainchi and RDC Obongi, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, who were at the scene of the accident.
One of the rescuers included Thomas Otim, a UPDF soldier who volunteered to guard the accident scene until police arrived.
The RDC of Obongi offered his official vehicle to transport the injured and called the Deputy RDC of Amuru, Proscovia Acham, who quickly responded by ordering traffic police to rush to the scene of the accident.
The traffic police took the vehicle to Pabbo Police Station, awaiting further investigation into the matter.
The Obongi RDC rushed the injured victims to Pawel Health Center III, where they were admitted.
The Gulu-Pabbo-Atiak-Nimule highway has become a deadly trap for passengers because of neglected potholes, making it very dangerous and risky.
