Obongi, Uganda –  Rev. Fr. David Andama, the Parish Priest of St. Padua Catholic Parish, Obongi, Arua Diocese, praised Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka as a “very good example of a missionary” during a World Mission Sunday mass held at Obongi Mission on Sunday.

However, Rev. Fr. Andama also challenged other leaders to use their positions to diligently and correctly serve the people.

He compared Jesus, who died on the cross to save humanity, to a good leader who was always present with his disciples and the people. He emphasized that Jesus wasn’t a sinner or a thief but a leader who served as a role model.

Rev. Fr. Andama criticized some leaders who enjoy a life of luxury, expecting modern chairs and car doors to be opened for them, instead of focusing on serving the people.

He presented himself and Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, the RDC of Obongi district, as examples of good servants who diligently and brilliantly serve a district they are not originally from.

Rev. Fr. Andama urged leaders and employees to serve diligently and with love, without demanding rewards. He emphasized that God is aware of their actions and recognizes those who work well.

On a concerning note, he mentioned a recent report highlighting the issue of teachers in Obongi not fulfilling their duties. He also cited a social media post from Madi Okolo showing a teacher without a shirt seemingly at a bar during school hours.
