The wonderful event took place at Kakoge ‘C’ Cell, Kakoge Ward, Lira City West Division, Lira City on Friday, December 6, 2024, with hundreds of people attending the colorful graduation ceremony.
While speaking at the ceremony, Morris Amoki, the administrator of Kakoge Model Functional Adult Literacy (FAL), expressed appreciation to Favour of God Ministry for supporting the FAL/Bible study students. He also thanked the Lira City leadership and the entire community.
He mentioned that they are also advocating for Early Childhood Development (ECD) learning in collaboration with The Great Salvation Ministry Church and other partners.
Patrick Eunice Arwai, the founder of The Great Salvation Ministry/Church, assured the gathering that the church is peaceful and full of disciplined congregants.
He applauded members of the church, especially the team from Favour of God Ministry International, and praised the Portable Bible School for the great work done so far. He urged the 30 graduates to remain united as brothers and sisters, forgiving one another, and emphasized the contribution of Favour of God’s Ministry in extending their helping hands to the church.
Okello Marthin, Chairman of the Laity, welcomed the students, quoting from 1 Peter 4:9, Psalm 23:6, and Proverbs 2:13, which discuss righteousness and following the right path in God’s Kingdom.
The event featured a variety of performances, including music, dance, drama, Bible challenges, preaching, and powerful testimonies from the graduates at exactly 2:00 PM as they welcomed the word of God.
Nixon Judith Okwir, a volunteer with Favour of God Ministry, urged the graduates to view education as a continuous process in their lives. She issued 30 certificates to the graduates, who had been taught various subjects including doctrines, Bible survey, community health, holy living, character development, homiletics, youth leadership, church planting, life skills development, and establishing prayer altars.
“Today we are sending you out as soldiers of Christ. You are going for war against the forces of darkness,” Nixon urged the graduates. She encouraged them to use the knowledge they gained to build the church, not to fight against its leaders.
Eunice Arwai, the chairperson of “Women in Action,” thanked the Minister of Health, Dr. Ruth Jane Aceng Ochero, who gave them 500,000 shillings. She explained that they have benefited from her donation through poultry farming. She also stated that they plan to purchase their own piece of land to establish the church in a more spacious area. “We are moving from poultry farming to beekeeping and cattle keeping, and the door is still open to anyone willing to join our group of Women in Action,” said Eunice Arwai.
