Mr. Ocaya Goddy Godfrey, commonly known as ‘Boo Malaba-laba,’ has vowed to become the next Urban Council 3 chairperson of Pajule Town Council in order to foster better development of the town by the year 2026. Hon. Ocaya Goddy Godfrey is running for Urban Council 3 (Mayor) of Pajule Town Council under the NRM ticket in the year 2026.

He promises to address the town’s stagnation and unlock its development potential in a more organized way than ever before.

He spoke exclusively to our reporter in a phone interview on Wednesday from Pajule Town Council. Key in his manifesto is the issue of Pajule Main Market, where water drainage is currently a challenge. Malaba-laba, a former LC5 councilor for Pajule Sub-county, highlights the poor state of the main market. He criticizes the lack of a proper drainage system and roofing, causing difficulties for vendors, especially during the rainy season within and around the market area.

Notable are the healthcare deficiencies, urging that Pajule HC IV, the town’s largest health center serving a substantial population, should be upgraded to a district hospital of Pader. He is concerned about the lack of coordination between some local and national leaders, describing it as a factor that has hampered progress and development in Pajule. Additionally, he criticizes the dilapidated state of the maternity ward at Pajule Health Centre IV and the sharing of wards for both men and women who are admitted as patients, which he finds improper.

Mr. Goddy Malaba-laba Ocaya noted that at the moment, Pajule Town Council lacks functional streetlights, even though Pajule was among the first areas to have them in the 1990s. He emphasizes the need for improved infrastructure, including roads, to support business activity within and outside Pajule Town Council. Ocaya is focusing on the business community’s concerns in Pajule. His campaign slogan, “Mayor pa LUCAN” (Bringing Development to Pajule), reflects his commitment to supporting businesses and residents, especially the underprivileged.

He acknowledges funding limitations but emphasizes the importance of proactive leadership to secure resources. He believes leaders must actively seek opportunities to bring development to Pajule. Malaba-laba concludes by urging voters to elect trustworthy leaders to propel Pajule/Pader forward and combat corruption.
