The National Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Chairman Nuwagira Michael Kaguta, (also known as Toyota), presided over the fundraising event aimed at purchasing land for Bugango and constructing the Bugango Town Council headquarters in Bukanga constituency, Isingiro District.
Upon receiving an invitation from the local council leaders, along with their area MP Honorable Kangwagye Stephen, Chairman Toyota represented PLU with a cash contribution of 20 million Ugandan Shillings towards the project. Additionally, he purchased gifts worth 39 million Ugandan Shillings in cash, totaling 59 million Ugandan Shillings raised for the project.
Chairman Toyota was accompanied by staunch PLU supporters from all over Western Uganda, including PLU coordinator for Kigezi sub-region, Honorable Nelson Nshangabashaija, and Isreal from Bunyoro. Also present were all PLU foot soldiers from Ankore sub-region, who, in solidarity and admiration for Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Chairman Toyota, raised 13 million Ugandan Shillings in cash to support the proposed project of purchasing land for the town council.
The women of Bugango Town Council expressed overwhelming joy as Chairman Toyota supported women’s groups with 5 million Ugandan Shillings in cash and two cows, which were provided immediately. He encouraged these women’s groups to continue saving as a means to alleviate poverty from their homes and afford basic education for their children.
Chairman Toyota emphasized the importance of patriotism, environmental protection, and the fight against corruption, as advocated by our supreme leader Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
He underscored PLU’s commitment to collaborating with all Ugandans regardless of age, tribe, religion, or political affiliation. “As Ugandans, this is the time to unite and embrace unity as we strive for the sustainability and consolidation of the peace and stability we enjoy today,” emphasized Toyota.
During interactions with residents of Bugango, it was observed that Toyota has been highly supportive of many families in Isingiro, particularly in areas of education, healthcare, and basic family needs, thereby promoting socioeconomic equality.
Honorable Aaron Turahi, LCv for Isingiro District, highlighted Isingiro’s top-ranking position nationwide in embracing government programs and combating poverty. He credited this achievement to the visionary leadership of Toyota, who has tirelessly worked to foster development in Isingiro.
