The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party has launched a project called the “Northern Uganda Bargaining Power Project” with the aim of enhancing bargaining power and ensuring a genuinely equitable distribution of political influence, economic resources, and opportunities within the FDC Party and Uganda as a whole.

The meeting for Northern Uganda FDC members was held on the 29th of September 2023 at Resto Court Hotel in Kamdini, Oyam District. The event was conducted under the theme “Northern Uganda: Building Unity and Speaking with One Voice.”

The outgoing National Mobilizer of the FDC Party for Northern Uganda, Hassan Fungarookap, explained that this project seeks to increase the representation of Northern Uganda in the party and foster unity across the entire FDC Party in Uganda.

The FDC Party is scheduled to hold its election for the party leader on the 6th of October this year as part of preparations for the general election in 2026. In Northern Uganda, Judith Franka Akello, a former woman MP from Agago, has been nominated for the position of Treasurer General for the FDC Party. Ajuna J. Daka from West Nile has been nominated for Secretary of Organization and Mobilization, while Hassan Fungarookap, the current Northern Mobilizer, has been nominated unopposed for the position of Vice Chairperson for FDC Northern Uganda.
