Napak, Uganda – The current Chief Administrative Officer of Mbale District, Mr. Luke Lokuda, is currently facing pressure from a section of residents in Bokora East in Napak District, demanding that he appear on the ballot for Member of Parliament for Bokora East in the 2026 general elections.

The Ankole Times has learned that the senior CAO gets overwhelmed by the turnout of people paying a visit to him whenever he returns for a weekend at his country home in Kangole Town Council in Napak District.

Locals describe Mr. Lokuda as a reliable, tested leader, intelligent, down-to-earth with the population, whom they believe would bring about significant changes for the people of Napak and Karamoja at large once he is elected.

Mr. Luke Lokuda has served in more than 13 districts without any single bad record, and he leaves each district with the population still yearning for his services.

He has served in various districts such as Moroto, Sironko, Bugiri, Mukono, Wakiso, Soroti, Mbale, and others.

Although Mr. Lokuda has not commented on the demand, his facial expression towards the population shows a sign that he might end up accepting the public demand.

Bokora East constituency is currently occupied by Mr. Peter Ken Lochap under the NRM ticket.

Mark Lokut, one of the voters of Koblin, said Mr. Luke would be in a better position to uplift Bokora when he’s in parliament, given the fact that he’s exposed.

“He has gained vast experience towards leadership and lobbying, and I believe he will do the needful when he enters into Parliament,” he said.

Robert Abura from Lotome said the Karamoja situation needs a much more vocal and active leader who is able to enter every office knocking on doors for development.

“We pray that Mr. Lokuda succumbs to our pressure and accepts to contest in the Bokora East county come 2026 since he’s about to retire from active service,” he said.

Meanwhile, a section of local artists in Napak is already preparing hot music promoting Mr. Lokuda for the 2026 General elections.
