On Monday, September 18, 2023, tragedy struck when Mr. Sulaiman Sserugoti Kadogo, the chairperson of Kasanja Central Village and the ruling NRM in Kasanje Town Council, Wakiso District, lost his life in a car crash. This unfortunate incident occurred just moments after he had dropped his children at Gombe Secondary School.

The incident is currently under investigation by the police in Mpigi. Mr. Karim Majid, the acting Katonga regional police spokesperson, confirmed that they are working diligently to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Mr. Sulaiman Sserugoti Kadogo, aged 51, was behind the wheel of a Toyota Harrier with the registration number UBF 945M when the crash occurred. In the vehicle, alongside him, were his daughter, known only as Nakazzi, and two grandchildren. Fortunately, the three passengers survived the accident but sustained injuries. They were promptly taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital for further medical attention.

An eyewitness, Mr. Vincent Kizito Mutalemwa, recounted the tragic events leading up to the accident. According to him, as Mr. Kadogo approached Sseta Village on the Mpigi-Kanoni Road, the car suddenly veered off the road, ultimately plunging into a trench.
