The spokesperson of Inzuyamasaba, Mr. Steven Masiga, has confirmed to the Ankole Times that the twenty cows promised to the landslide survivors in Bulambuli, particularly the Bunambutye resettlement camp, as a Christmas gift have been safely delivered to them.
Mr. Masiga said that while President Museveni did not utilize the cultural structures to deliver the cows, “for us as a cultural institution, anything that comes to our land to help alleviate the plight of our people is appreciated.”
President Museveni recently, while in the Bugisu region, pledged to give 20 cows to the Bulambuli landslide victims.
Mr. Masiga says that as Inzuyamasaba, their view is that the pledge to the landslide victims should be distributed to all Bamasaba affected by landslides across Masabaland who are resettled in Bunambutye.
The animals pledged by the President were handed over to the Woman Member of Parliament for Bulambuli District, Hon. Irene Muloni, yesterday, December 25th, at 3:00 AM.
