Thousands of Yahweh Pentecostal Mission Christians witnessed the commissioning of Awake Cell, Olec Ward, Otuke Town Council in Otuke District. Yahweh Pentecostal Mission, Awake, was constructed by Honorable Acon Julius Bua at a cost of 700 million shillings.
Sam Engola, the Senior Presidential Advisor, said he participated in the construction of 49 churches in Apac District and a total of 146 churches. Mr. Engola confirmed that on Wednesday, they had a very good meeting with the president, and he expects a peaceful meeting that he will again attend on April 6, 2024, at State House. He explained that the conflict between PAG Uganda and Yahweh Pentecostal had a long genesis, but God willing, this time it will be peaceful.
Engola handed over 50 million shillings to Acon, donated by H.E. the President of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni Kaguta. Bishop John Mukalo quoted the book of Haggai 1:1-11, talking about building the Kingdom of God. He urged the Yahweh Pentecostal Mission members to vote for Museveni, Acon, RCC Egole, and A eja Susan in the 2026 elections. He added that in 2026, Acon and Museveni Kaguta must be the sole candidates. Mukalu requested the government to award him a vehicle and one coaster for the mothers in the church of Yahweh Pentecostal Mission.
Etwop Geoffrey, a prominent businessman in Lira City, showed his happiness to H.E. the President for allowing freedom of worship. Honorable Acon Julius Bua read the names of 21 MPs who contributed and supported him in the construction of the church. Acon was welcomed and appreciated by hundreds of Christians who jubilated because of the church constructed by him (Honorable Acon).
Susan Abeja Okello, while addressing the congregations, said Julius Bua Acon is a kind, disciplined leader who is blessed by God. They are working together and doing result-oriented work. She said she is not working together with Julius not because he is her relative but because all of them like the church. MP Abeja Susan got saved in 2017 and won the election in 2021. She told Yahweh Pentecostal Mission Christians not to chase any other believer who does not belong to them, promising her visit from one village to another in the district of Otuke.
Minister Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny gave 2 million cash to support buying other materials needed for the church. She assured the people of Otuke that H.E. the President is committed to bringing lasting peace in the district because very soon he will meet and discuss with him the issue pertaining to peace in the border district. RCC Egole urged the Christians to put their trust in the God they worship.
