Okidi Patrick, Lira City – Lira District and Lira City as a whole are gearing up to celebrate the birthday of a senior Presidential Advisor in charge of the Lango sub-region, Hon. Sam Engola.
One of the organizers of the event, Hon. Angwech Pamela, spoke to our reporter on Thursday evening in an interview. She said preparations are in high gear to sing the best birthday melody for Hon. Sam. However, while speaking to our reporter in a telephone interview, he expressed tears of joy as he prepares to celebrate his birthday on Saturday. The Senior Presidential Advisor, Engola, expressed gratitude to his family members and the public for sending him love and birthday greetings as he will turn another year older on Saturday.
He was a hardworking former State Minister of Housing and Lands. In a social media post, Mr. Sam Engola said he was amazed and surprised to receive ‘overwhelming’ messages of love and kindness on his birthday.
“I cried so many tears of joy, laughed, and was simply amazed and thanked God for using all the well-wishers to inspire me that life is still worth living and that there’s hope yet for humanity. May our God continue to bless you and use you for His glory!” were some of the messages sent to Sam Engola.
Among the people who sent well wishes to him was his dear wife, Hon. Woman MP Apac Betty Engola, who in her message, thanked him for his love and commitment to God at all times. “Thank you, Sam, for your love and commitment to God, our family, and the people of the Lango sub-region and Uganda as a whole. May God grant you many more years of health,” she posted on Thursday. The couple is blessed with four children.
Many people are more than ready to celebrate his birthday on Saturday. Hon. Pamela Angwech of Lira City narrated that they are expecting more important people to physically celebrate with Sam on his birthday on Saturday at a location yet to be disclosed.
Sam Engola is vying for MP of Erute South Constituency under the NRM party ticket and is gaining significant support.
