RDC and ARDC Impound Truck with Over 200 Charcoal Bags in Obongi, Four Arrested

The Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, and Assistant RDC (ARDC), Ms. Umuhoza Habiba Furaha, in collaboration with the District Internal Security Officer (DISO), Mr. Denis [Last Name], impounded a truck carrying over 200 bags of charcoal.

Citing Executive Order No. 3 issued by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Obongi RDC’s office ordered the arrest of four individuals on July 31, 2024, under Obongi Police Station reference number SD 22/31/7/2024 for unlawful transportation of forest products.




The arrested individuals are:




  • Ms. Jurwa Jane
  • Mr. Akunasi Bahati
  • Mr. Tusubirwa Richard
  • Mr. Sali Sosan

The team, led by RDC Hashaka, discovered that the truck loaded with over 200 bags originated in Adjumani, crossed the Obongi-Sinyanya ferry, and was headed for Obongi Town Council before being impounded.




RDC Hashaka warned the public against engaging in the charcoal business.
