The Electoral Commission (EC) has commenced the nomination process for candidates vying for the Dokolo District Woman Member of Parliament seat today, March 11, 2024.
Nominations are taking place at the EC offices located in Dokolo Town Council. Janet Rose Adongo Elau was the first candidate to arrive, promptly at 9:00 am as scheduled, although she found the EC officials unprepared.
The by-election, slated for March 21, 2024, aims to fill the vacancy left by Cecilia Atim Ogwal, who passed away in January of this year.
Supervising the nomination exercise is regional EC officer Jackson Higenyi.
