The chairperson of Greater Kabale Community Co-Operatives Society Ltd, Eliab Naturinda, has challenged the public not to only focus on making savings for death preparations but also for development.
He revealed this today while launching the offices of the outreach in Kacerere Town Council, Rubanda West. Addressing members of the outreach and other community members who had gathered for the official launch, and selecting delegates to represent the outreach in the AGM Meeting scheduled to take place in March, Eliab expressed concern about how men in Greater Kabale save in their groups (Bataaka Twezikye groups) that only focus on death.
Eliab said that savings for development have been left to women, saying that it’s high time for everyone to plan and start saving for development.
Eliab assured the community of the Sacco meeting the standard everyone would wish for and the safety of their savings. However, he challenged the members to stay informed about anything concerning their Sacco.
Nicholas Rwesigobuta, the Greater Kabale Community Co-Operatives Society Ltd Loans supervisor, challenged the members to acquire more shares in the Sacco for the betterment of the Greater Kabale Community Co-Operatives Society Ltd.
The locals, led by Eliab Mugambaje and Turyatunga Aggrey, the mayor and councilor Lc5 representing Kacerere Town Council respectively, called for good governance of the Sacco, saying the majority of the Saccos disappear with people’s savings before staging a scenario of theft.
