Three Children, Elderly Woman Killed in Dokolo Car Crash

Three school children and a 59 year old woman tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Dokolo Town Council when a vehicle driven by a local school head teacher veered off course, hitting the victims.

(Dokolo) – The police have identified the victims of a tragic road accident on the Dokolo-Kaberamaido road in Dokolo Town Council, which resulted in the deaths of three school children and a 59 year old woman. The accident, which occurred Tuesday afternoon near Dokolo Primary School, involved a saloon car driven by Moses Awira, who serves as the head teacher of Aputi Secondary School in Amolatar District.

Awira, who reportedly lives with a disability, lost control of his vehicle near Alokiri cell, where it collided with a group of children walking by the roadside. The impact was immediate and severe, claiming the lives of three children on the spot. The 59 year old woman, who was also struck in the incident, was quickly transported to Dokolo Health Center IV but sadly succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.




Two other children were also critically injured in the collision and are currently receiving medical care.




Police are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident, and no further details have been released about the incident or Awira’s status as the driver. Local authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution, especially on roads near schools and residential areas, where children and pedestrians are commonly present.
