The Inzuymasaba cultural leader, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, has instructed all Bamasaba people to undergo regular health checkups, including deworming, to prevent communicable diseases.
During a recent address in Mbale City, the Umukuka emphasized the importance of health maintenance and highlighted the concerning increase in stomach-related issues among the Bamasaba population.
Mr. Steven Masiga, the spokesperson of Inzuymasaba, confirmed the cultural leader’s guidance and expressed concern over the declining population statistics while noting the rising prevalence of health problems.
Masiga emphasized the need for regular deworming for all Bamasaba people, including public figures like MPs and clan heads. He urged health centers to take the lead in deworming initiatives and called for adequate drug supplies.
Masiga attributed the presence of disease-causing pathogens to contaminated water sources, resulting from landslides in Bududa and improper waste disposal in Mbale City.
The Inzuymasaba leadership has been actively involved in national programs addressing health issues and recently celebrated the cultural heritage day, also known as pre-independence day.
To achieve successful deworming, the Inzuymasaba leadership plans to collaborate closely with both local and central governments.
