Byamukama Libino, Rubanda – The construction of three classroom blocks and multipurpose halls in selected schools in Rubanda District has reached an average of 90% completion.
This progress was discovered during the monitoring of the projects by District Chairperson Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba and other heads of departments from the district.
The monitoring exercise started at Kitagyenda Primary School, where the district is constructing a three-classroom block worth 150 million UGX. At Bubare Secondary School, the district is constructing a girls’ dormitory worth 150 million UGX.
At Nyamiringa Primary School in Bubare Sub-county, the district is constructing a block worth 150 million UGX. At this school, the dilapidated building that had been housing infant classes is on the verge of collapse, and the head teacher’s office is also near collapse.
The school’s Deputy Head Teacher, Mr. Mucunguzi Nicholas, said that the dilapidated buildings had started scaring away the teachers and pupils, and the situation worsened during rainy seasons.
The district officials further proceeded to Nangaro Primary School, where a three-classroom block worth 150 million UGX is being constructed. At this school, the dilapidated building housing the primary one block had just collapsed.
The Hamurwa Sub-county Female Councilor, Mary Bebwajuba, attributed the new transformation in the district to the unity between the district, led by the LC5 Chairperson Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, and the State Minister for Finance General Duties, Hon. Henry Musasizi.
The district chairperson, Stephen Kasyaba, also visited Bufundi College Kacerere, where a multipurpose block worth 300 million UGX is being constructed, before heading to St. Charles Lwanga SS in Muko Sub-county, where a multipurpose block worth 200 million UGX is being constructed.
Speaking to our reporter after the monitoring exercise, the Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, lauded the great work done by the State Minister for Finance General Duties, Henry Musasizi, for his contributions to the district.
Kasyaba said that hardworking leaders never retire and urged the people to support them when needed.
