Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of the Lango zone, Hon. Sam Engola, has warmly welcomed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in advance as the President kicks off his zonal tour in the Lango sub-region on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

The President is expected to visit model farmers in three districts: Amolatar, Kole, and Lira, where Engola hails from.

In an exclusive interview with the media, Engola commended President Museveni for being a brilliant and visionary leader with a strong commitment to eradicating poverty in Uganda. He praised the NRM government for ensuring the prevailing peace in Northern Uganda and beyond. Engola also mentioned that the President would lay the foundation stone for the Akii-Bua Olympic Memorial Stadium in Lira City.

Engola highlighted that many people in Lira district and other parts of the Lango sub-region have recognized that the PDM, Emyooga, YLP, and UWEP programs are crucial to the development of individuals and households in terms of wealth creation.

He encouraged the people of Erute South, Lira district, and the entire Lango sub-region to embrace these programs and reminded beneficiaries to support President Museveni in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

Engola also shared with this publication on Monday evening that his time to join the 12th Parliament is fast approaching, as the people of Erute South have already endorsed him as the NRM flag bearer for the 2026 elections.

He emphasized that the political atmosphere in Erute South requires experienced leaders like him to connect the people to various government ministries and programs, rather than a younger, inexperienced representative, to ensure that the people of Erute South benefit in the 2026 general elections.
