Ethiopian Military Delegation Meets Museveni in Entebbe

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, accompanied a visiting Ethiopian military delegation to State House in Entebbe this afternoon. The delegation was warmly received by President Yoweri Museveni, marking an important step in strengthening military and bilateral relations between Uganda and Ethiopia.

Leading the Ethiopian delegation was Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Force. Field Marshal Berhanu’s visit to Uganda was at the invitation of General Kainerugaba, highlighting the close ties between the military leaders of the two nations.




During the meeting, President Museveni expressed his gratitude to the Ethiopian delegation and underscored the importance of reinforcing military and bilateral relations among African countries. He emphasized the need for collaboration in various sectors, including trade, to foster a strong and prosperous Africa.




“The bond between our countries is crucial,” President Museveni stated. “By working together, we can create a more stable and thriving continent.”




The discussions at State House included key officials such as the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Her Excellency Etsegenet Bezabih, Lieutenant General Charles Okidi, Commander of the UPDF Air Force, and Brigadier General Daniel Kakono, Commander of the Field Artillery Division. Their presence underscored the high level of importance both countries place on these discussions.

This meeting followed an earlier engagement between General Kainerugaba and Field Marshal Berhanu, which included a dinner hosted by General Kainerugaba for the Ethiopian delegation.
