Yesterday, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, gave a lecture on servant leadership to Officer Cadets of Intake 18/long at the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta, Nakaseke District.
General Kainerugaba explained that servant leadership is a powerful approach that can bring positive change to the military through acts of exemplary service. He emphasized the influence of actions by saying, “Human beings are inspired by your actions.”
He outlined key traits of a servant leader, such as empathy and humility. He encouraged the cadets to understand the feelings and situations of the troops they lead and to prioritize their welfare. General Kainerugaba stressed the importance of supporting troops when they face challenges.
Additionally, General Kainerugaba advised the cadets to focus on self-improvement and to be open to admitting mistakes and learning from others. He highlighted that leadership is not about being perfect but about continuous growth and development.
The lecture was attended by Brigadier General Bonny Geoffrey Wolimbwa, the Commandant of the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta, as well as senior officers and instructors from the school.
