Police Safely Detonate Improvised Explosive Device in Busy Kabalagala Area

On Friday evening, the anti-terrorism squad successfully detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kataba slum, located in the busy Kabalagala-Munyonyo area of Kampala. The information was received by the police in Kabalagala, who promptly recovered and safely exploded the suspected IED, as reported by Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Owoyesigyire assured the public that no injuries or casualties were recorded during the operation. The police are currently engaged in efforts to identify the individuals responsible for placing the explosive device in the crowded area. He emphasized that the situation is now normal, and there is no immediate threat.




Owoyesigyire urged the public, especially during the festive season, to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The police’s swift response and successful handling of the potential threat reflect their commitment to maintaining public safety.
