General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, held a significant meeting with a high-level Russian military delegation at the Special Forces Command headquarters in Entebbe. The delegation was sent by the Russian Minister of Defence with the primary goal of exploring and enhancing the relationship between the Russian Armed Forces and the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Lieutenant General James Mugira, the Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), which is the business arm of the UPDF. Discussions centered on strengthening cooperation in defence and security between the two countries, indicating a growing bond in military relations.
This meeting comes shortly after General Kainerugaba’s visit to Moscow, where he led a military delegation. The visit was highlighted in a recent post on his X account, showcasing the continued efforts to build stronger ties with Russia.
In addition to this meeting, General Kainerugaba has had several other interactions with top military officials from Russia in recent times.
