Abdallah Mubiru has been appointed as the new Head Coach for KCCA FC, securing a two-year contract from 2023 to 2025. The appointment follows the departure of Portuguese coach Sergio Daniel Traguil, who mutually parted ways with the club in October.
The unveiling ceremony took place with the Club Patron, His Worship, the Lord Mayor for Kampala, Ssalongo Erias Lukwgo introducing Mubiru as the new head of the coaching staff. This marks Mubiru’s second tenure as Head Coach at KCCA FC, having previously held the position in 2014. Notably, he is also a former player for KCCA FC, showcasing a connection to the club dating back to the 90s.
Mubiru’s immediate focus, along with his technical team, will be to steer KCCA FC’s season back on track. His wealth of coaching experience includes stints with various clubs, including Police FC, Proline FC, Vipers SC, and Mbeya City FC. He has also contributed to the development of Ugandan football as a coach for the national team, the Uganda Cranes.
The newly appointed Head Coach, Abdallah Mubiru, brings a rich footballing background, having not only played for but also previously coached KCCA FC. The club plans to announce the full technical team in the near future.
