Rally driver Jas Mangat remains determined to win this year’s Africa Rally Championship (ARC), despite facing tough competition.
In the recent Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally, which was the fifth round of the ARC, Mangat secured the second position, earning 24 valuable points for his championship pursuit. This achievement kept him in the third position overall with a total of 87 points, trailing behind the leader, Yasin Nasser from Uganda, who has 93 points, and Karan Patel from Kenya, who is in second place with 90 points after winning the Rwanda rally.
Mangat, a three-time national rally champion, expressed his commitment to giving his all in the upcoming event in Zambia. He mentioned that he is currently adapting to his new car and is determined to perform well.
“We put in our best effort in Rwanda, and now we’re gearing up for Zambia. We’ll give it our all,” said the driver from the Pili Pili team.
To secure the championship, Mangat faces a challenging task. With only two events left on the calendar, taking place in Zambia and Tanzania, he must secure two consecutive wins to have any chance of claiming the championship title.
