As the new year unfolds, professional golfer Ronald Rugumayo is set for a demanding season, filled with high-stakes tournaments and ambitious goals on the international stage. The Ugandan golfer, who made history by registering an ace at the Magical Kenya Open last year, is eyeing a prominent presence in international golf circuits throughout the upcoming season.

Rugumayo’s journey begins this week as he participates in the Safari Tour at the Sigona Golf Club in Nairobi, Kenya, from January 7-10. This event serves as the starting point for his quest to qualify for the prestigious Magical Kenya Open, where he aims to surpass his previous accomplishments.

According to Peter Mujuni, Rugumayo’s manager, the month of February holds key challenges contingent on his qualification for the Magical Kenya Open. If successful, Rugumayo will proceed to participate in four Challenge Tour events, including pre-qualification tournaments where a top-10 finish is crucial.

In the following month, Rugumayo is scheduled to compete in the SDC Open from February 1-4, followed by the Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Open from February 8-11. However, a scheduling clash arises with the NMB Championship overlapping with the Magical Kenya Open from February 22-25.

Mujuni also revealed plans for Rugumayo to participate in qualifiers for the next two DP World Tour events, further solidifying the golfer’s commitment to challenging himself on the global golfing stage.

The action-packed schedule continues with the SDC Championship from February 29 to March 3, followed by the Jonsson Workwear Open from March 7-10, both to be held in South Africa.
