Jinja-based bantamweight boxer Salimat Tibesigwa is preparing for her upcoming match against fellow countrymate Christine Aja at Luweero Recreation Ground on October 14. This fight is not for a title. Tibesigwa is making her return to the boxing ring after a three-month break, which was caused by her inability to obtain a visa for a lucrative fight in Dubai in August.

The match against Aja is highly anticipated and organized by Great Strikers International. Tibesigwa, who is known for her speed and strong words, expressed her excitement about this fight, stating, “I have been out of action for quite some time, but this 10th bout holds significant importance for my future fights on the continent. I need to maintain the right mindset to continue my winning streak.”

Salimat Tibesigwa is trained by Julius Mponge at Batooma Sporting Club and has won her last five fights. Her recent success has raised the possibility of her getting opportunities for bigger international fights against stronger opponents in the near future.
