The Kigezi Province football team has been eliminated from the FUFA Drum 2023 competition following a disappointing home and away defeat to Teso Province, with a (2-3) goal aggregate.
The decisive match took place this morning at Kihihi High School Playground in Kihihi town council, Kanungu district. Kigezi Province found themselves trailing after conceding the first goal in the 82nd minute of the second half. A crucial turning point occurred when Henry Tumisiime’s fall resulted in a red card and a penalty for Teso Province, skillfully converted into the net by Oloro Nathan.
Despite the setback, Kato Hussein managed to salvage an equalizer for the home team in the 4th minute of added time, resulting in a draw. Hussein’s outstanding performance earned him the title of Man of the Match at the final whistle.
