Karamoja, Uganda — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Director for Mobilisation, Dr. Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde, has expressed gratitude to the people of Karamoja for their massive turnout and love shown toward President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni during his recent visit to the region.

Dr. Sseninde said she is confident that President Museveni will secure overwhelming support from the Karamoja sub-region, noting that the residents have pledged total loyalty to the NRM and its presidential flag bearer.

“I want to thank the people of Karamoja for the warm welcome and the great love they have shown to President Museveni. I am confident that Karamoja will give him 100 percent of the votes,” Dr. Sseninde said.

She attributed the strong support to the peace and stability that President Museveni’s leadership has brought to the region, which for years had been affected by insecurity and cattle rustling.

“In the past, people in Karamoja had many guns and used them to steal cattle and even kill one another. Today, such incidents are no longer happening because the President restored peace and stability,” she noted.

Dr. Sseninde also commended First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni, who previously served as Minister for Karamoja Affairs, for spearheading several development projects that have transformed the region.

“When Maama Janet was Minister for Karamoja, she initiated development programs that improved education, health, and livelihoods. The people of Karamoja appreciate these efforts and are ready to vote for President Museveni again,” she added.

She further encouraged Ugandans in other parts of the country to emulate the spirit of Karamoja by turning up in large numbers to welcome the President and support his vision for continued transformation.

“Our mobilisation efforts are yielding positive results across the country. We call upon all Ugandans to prepare to receive the President and show the same unity and support as our brothers and sisters in Karamoja,” Dr. Sseninde said.
