Technical staff and political leaders from Obongi and Terego districts have resolved to unite and collaborate to enhance the performance of government-funded projects in both districts.

This decision was reached during a learning visit by Obongi district leaders to Terego district.




The delegation was led by Obongi District Chairperson Abib Buga Khemis Awadi, CAO Benson Humphrey Otim, Speaker Abdul Rahman, and RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka.




Chairperson Abib Buga Khemis Awadi of Obongi DLG disclosed that the visit to Terego district was motivated by the presence of similar multi-billion-shilling projects like USMID and DRDIP in both districts.

These projects aim to improve infrastructure and the welfare of people in refugee-hosting districts. He emphasized that both districts face similar challenges due to their status as refugee hosting areas.

CAO Benson Humphrey Otim of Obongi district stated that the learning visit was intended to assess the performance of Terego district in implementing the USMID-AF and DRDIP projects, drawing lessons from Terego’s successful implementation of these projects.

RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka of Obongi advised leaders from both districts to collaborate closely in the implementation of government-funded projects, ensuring adherence to the Presidential directives regarding groundbreaking and commissioning of projects.
