Leaders in Teso commend Rev. Fr. Daniel Oreet as a down-to-earth leader contributing to the development of Magoro and Ngariam Catholic churches by advocating for fundraisings.
The endorsement came from Daniel Walter Elakas-Okiring, who represented the State Minister for Education and Sports and Hon. Peter Ogwang during the thanksgiving and memorial Mass for Rev. Fr. Daniel Oreet and the late Papa Okeba Samuel in Olelai, Abarilela sub-county, Amuria County, in Amuria District on January 27, 2024.
“That’s why our turnout is significant; we are always with your son Oreet. He engages all leaders irrespective of their political differences,” Elakas stated.
He added that Christians in the churches of Okore, Ngariam in Ngariam County, and Magoro in Toroma County rapidly supported the construction of churches following Fr. Oreet’s involvement.
Elakas, a Parliament of Uganda employee, presented a five-million shillings contribution from Minister Peter Ogwang to the family of Rev. Fr. Oreet, emphasizing that the public should continue supporting President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the best choice for current leadership.
He mentioned the presence of the Right Hon. Speaker Anita Annet Among in the 11th Parliament, expressing pride and confidence for Uganda and urged the church to continue praying for her.
Robert Adiama, representing the State Minister of Works and Amuria County MP Musa Ecweru, contributed one million shillings. He highlighted the issue of youth opium addiction, causing them to forget the benefits of government programs like PDM, Emyooga, and others.
Meanwhile, Vincent Okwi, Deputy RDC representing Vice President Jesca Alupo as the chief guest, announced a one-million-shilling contribution, informing the public about the upcoming Phase Two of PDM.
Among the leaders present were leaders of Amuria and Katakwi Districts, Christians of different denominations, clan and opinion leaders, among others.
