The Speke Resort Convention Center is all set to host the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77+ China summit in 2024. The venue exudes grandeur, featuring sparkling floors and glistening chandeliers. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the Convention Center is fully prepared for the upcoming events.

Uganda is set to host the 19th Summit of NAM Heads of State and Government from January 15 to 20, 2024, at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort. Following this, from January 21 to 23, the Third South Summit organized under the Group of 77 (G77) and China will also take place at the same venue. The NAM summit will bring together representatives from 120 member states, while the G77+ China summit is a gathering of developing countries.

During these events, Uganda will assume the chairmanship of NAM for the next three years and G77 and China for one year. The chairmanship is expected to bring economic benefits to the country.

As part of the preparations, the Entebbe International Airport is undergoing upgrading and expansion, carried out by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). The newly built 10,000-square-meter cargo center was commissioned in April, and construction of a new terminal building covering 20,000 square meters is currently halfway complete.
