The Parliament’s Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities, and State Enterprises (COSASE) has persisted in its investigation into the Gorilla permit fraud case involving Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff, where an alleged misappropriation of over shillings 948 million has been reported.
During the ongoing inquiry, the committee was taken aback by revelations made by a UWA staff member, who disclosed receiving over shs250m as payment for alcohol consumed at his bar.
The committee’s efforts to uncover the truth behind the Gorilla permit fraud have shed light on concerning financial practices within UWA. As part of their investigation, COSASE aims to hold accountable those implicated in the mismanagement of funds and ensure transparency and accountability within the organization.
