MBALE CITY, UGANDA – The Umukuka III, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma of the Bamasaaba people, has commended the Ankole Times and Daily Express platforms for their sustained and lively coverage of his activities while he was in the United States of America (USA).
According to Steven Masiga, the spokesperson for the Bugisu Cultural Institution, His Highness was highly satisfied with the media coverage provided by both outlets, particularly over the two weeks he was out of the country.
“These platforms kept the Bamasaaba, both in Uganda and in the diaspora, well-informed about the Umukuka’s itinerary and general programs while he was abroad, attending the International Humanitarian Knighthood. We sincerely thank them,” Masiga stated.
Masiga further reported that several headteachers supported the mobilization team with fuel for the Umukuka’s reception. These included Madam Nankya Masitula of Nakaloke SSS, Mr. Peter Musingo, Headteacher of Mbale School for the Deaf, and Mr. Peter Samanya, Headteacher of Mulatsi SSS. He also extended gratitude to Dr. Rubanza of the Uganda Police, Dr. Paul Mwambu, Prime Minister of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, and Hon. Michael Materesi for providing essential facilitation.
The Umukuka, Masiga added, deeply appreciated the support of the Elgon Police leadership, which provided security and escort vehicles for His Highness, including both covert and overt security details. A special thank you was also extended to Bukuka Ministers who provided escort cars, notably Hon. Patrick Mataku, Hon. Rev. Titus Kutosi, and Hon. Kalid Massa. The efforts of Hon. Kutoi, Minister for Culture, and Hon. Irene Manghali, among others, were also highlighted for their significant contributions.
The military royal guards were on standby to guarantee the security of His Highness the Umukuka and his honorable ministers.
“It is our duty as a cultural institution to acknowledge and appreciate community efforts aimed at supporting the Umukuka, especially those who supported us to the hilt, as we worked tirelessly to ensure His Highness received a deserved reception upon his return to his land. Thank you all,” Masiga concluded.
His Highness was warmly received yesterday in Mbale upon his arrival back from the USA.
