Umukuka III to Visit Bulambuli to Condole and Assess Cultural Sites After Landslides

The spokesperson for Inzuyamasaba, Mr. Steven Masiga, has confirmed to The Ankole Times that the Umukuka III of Inzuyamasaba, His Royal Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, will visit Bulambuli District to commiserate with the affected communities.

The Umukuka’s visit will also involve assessing the state of cultural sites that may have been damaged or swept away by the landslides. Mr. Masiga revealed, “We shall assess the state of the circumcision yards and, if necessary, review the Imbalu calendar for December,” he highlighted.




The Umukuka will be accompanied by his ministers, including the Prime Minister of Inzuyamasaba, Rt. Hon. Charles Walimbwa Peke Masolo; the Minister for Disaster, Hon. Vincent Woboya; the Minister for Museums and Tourism, Hon. Priscilla Mungoma; the Minister for Culture, Hon. Moses Kutoi; and the spokesperson for Inzuyamasaba, Hon. Steven Masiga.




The Umukuka III and his cabinet are deeply disturbed by the tragedy, which has claimed the lives of many of his subjects. He has a cultural duty to visit the affected families and offer his condolences.




The Umukuka will also be accompanied by media teams, including those from The Ankole Times, The Daily ExpressThe StandardThe UG Reports, NTV, Daily MonitorNew Vision, Baba TV, UBC, and NBS TV, as well as selected radio stations such as Signal, BCU, IUIU FM, Step FM, and Time FM, among others.

Mr. Steven Masiga, spokesperson for the Bamasaba people, appealed to the Bamasaba and donors to help alleviate the suffering of the affected communities. He also expressed gratitude to the government for stepping in promptly to evacuate the sick and provide essential supplies.
