Unidentified Body Found in River Mubuku in Kasese

Kasese, Uganda –– Police discovered an unidentified dead body in River Mubuku, in Ibanda-Kyanya town council, Kasese district, on the afternoon of December 7th.

The spokesperson for the Rwenzori East Region Police, SP. Luke Mbusa, confirmed the discovery and stated that the deceased has been transported to the Kasese Municipal Health Centre Three mortuary for a postmortem examination.




SP. Mbusa urged residents to always carry their National Identification cards to facilitate identification by the community and police in case of emergencies.




Mr. James Mwiruwabo, the officer in charge of the Municipal Health Centre Three, stated that while they are waiting for the postmortem report, the deceased appears to have been strangled and suffered deep cuts to the head, inflicted by unknown assailants.




This incident remains under investigation, and further details are expected to be revealed after the postmortem examination is completed.
