UPC Set To Hold First Rally Of 2024 in Dokolo On Saturday

Mr. Chris Ongom, the UPC Regional Vice Chairman for Lango Sub-region, has called upon all the people in Lango sub-region, Northern Uganda, and beyond to turn up for a massive mobilization rally that will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Dokolo Town Council in Dokolo district.

Ongom said the rally shall take place at Angwecibange Primary School with four different stopover locations by the UPC party President Hon Jimmy Michael Akena Obote. He said the party President will be the guest of honor at the massive rally that will be full to capacity at Angwecibange P/S.




The same kind of mobilization rally will take place in Kabale on January 27, 2024, where the UPC party president will launch the official opening of UPC’s new office. Ongom was addressing the media on Thursday morning at Pacific Grand Hotel in Lira City, around 10:00 AM.




The UPC message of massive mobilization aims to bring people and political parties of all walks of life, including all members in the diaspora in several platforms, especially those in the UK, Canada, and other parts of the USA.




In Akolodong Primary School and three other places, there will be a stopover by the convoy team of the party president. It will be followed by a grand rally at Angwecibange Primary School. The media has been called upon to work together with the UPC party leadership in this part of the mobilization drive.

UPC supporters in Lira City and in all parts of Northern Uganda are encouraged to join a wonderful convoy of UPC party president Hon. Jimmy Akena Obote, starting from Senior Quarters ‘A’, where he will leave early in the morning from his residence together with the team from Lira City.

Chris narrated that in waiting for another mobilization rally that will be held soon are Otuke, Lira district in Lango sub-region. Others are Kabale and Kitgum district, to mention.




According to Ongom, there will also be laying of the wreath by the UPC party president Akena Jimmy Michael.

UPC party mobilization will be right from the grassroots level to the national level, in which candidates will be groomed to contest at all political positions under UPC party ticket.

Mr. Ongura Boney, the UPC secretary general for Lango sub-region, noted that the wave of UPC party mobilization has now made many show interest in converting from other political parties to UPC, and they are ready to receive them on Saturday.




“A number of people who want to contest under UPC in 2026 are now very many, not only in Lango but also in other parts of the country,” said Ongura.

Ongura rallied everybody to support the UPC party president Akena Jimmy on Saturday’s rally, beginning at Abuta-Adii Primary School and other places, including Agwata, where he will make a stopover.

He said supporters of UPC in two different buses will travel all the way from Ankole Region to come to Dokolo to witness the mobilization drive of the UPC Party supporters in Lango. Hon. Jimmy Michael Akena Obote, the UPC party president, held two different rallies in Apac district and Amolatar recently, and again, he will be holding another rally at Dokolo Town Council.
