UVTAB Students at MIU Urged to Focus on Skills Development for Enhanced Employability

Students of the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) at Metropolitan International University (MIU) have been urged to prioritize skills development and expertise to enhance their employability.

During a UVTAB meeting held at the university hall on Friday, ahead of the nationwide inspection of real-life projects, Byamukama Enock, the Principal of UVTAB students at MIU, emphasized the importance of acquiring skills, knowledge, and experience to remain competitive in the job market.




Byaruhanga Benard, Head of the Education Department, and Ivan Nkotomusera, Head of the Agriculture Department, advised students to maintain discipline and mutual respect as a foundation for success. They also expressed concern over the students’ dress code, warning that it could negatively impact their future prospects.




Senior lecturers Anthony Tumwine and Elasu Julius, from the Journalism Department, encouraged students to collaborate and cooperate in class to achieve both academic and professional success. They also urged students to act as ambassadors for the university to help improve enrollment.




Mujuni Micheal, Senior Lecturer in the Tourism and Hospitality Department, emphasized the importance of research to stay updated on recent changes in the UVTAB curriculum. He also encouraged students to promote unity and love among themselves to achieve academic excellence.

Finally, Robert Nzamuye, Academic Registrar of UVTAB at MIU, appealed to students to register on time to ensure better preparation for exams and to achieve overwhelming success in the forthcoming exams.
