“The country has lost a community mobilizer and an advocate of the NRM’s socio-economic transformation agenda, who spearheaded peace and security in the Karamoja subregion,” she eulogized.
Alupo made these remarks during a special Parliament session held in honor of Aleper’s service to humanity and the country.
The Vice President noted that Aleper will be dearly missed not only by his family and friends but also by the country as a whole.
On behalf of the Office of the Vice President and on her own behalf, Alupo extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, the people of Karamoja, the National Resistance Movement, and the nation at large.
Aleper was the former Member of Parliament for Moroto Municipality. He was also the Vice Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the Karamoja region and a member of the Central Executive Committee.
Yesterday, President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the National Chairman of the NRM, accorded the late Aleper an official burial in recognition of his service to the country and the party.
