Matsiko Oscar, a young patriot aspiring to represent the youth of Western Uganda in the 12th Parliament, has gained prominence through his recent activities.

He actively participated in the mobilization efforts for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s recent PDM tour in the Kigezi sub-region.

Believing in the importance of stakeholder engagement, Oscar seeks to build the ideological and social capital necessary for effective lobbying should he win the Western Region Youth MP seat in the 2026-2031 election.

His recent meetings with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa and the newly appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda have bolstered his support among young people.

During Ekitaramo at Igongo Cultural Centre, Oscar, invited as a keynote speaker, challenged fellow youth and key NRM stakeholders, including Rtd. Gen. Kale Kayihura and ISO Deputy Director Col. Katabazi, among others. His insightful presentation impressed attendees, establishing him as a strong candidate to represent young people in the 12th Parliament.

Oscar’s address highlighted key challenges facing young people and proposed potential solutions with clear implementation strategies. He emphasized the need for state-led industrialization, focusing on the development of manufacturing, infrastructure, and heavy industries to create jobs for unemployed youth.

Former Western Youth MP Hon. Mwine Mpaka endorsed Oscar, praising his “well-thought-out presentation” and recommending him as the ideal voice for the region’s young people.

With further engagements planned, Matsiko Oscar is emerging as a leading candidate for Western Region Youth MP.
