Okidi Patrick, Dokolo – In an exclusive one-on-one interview with our reporter over the last two weeks, about 33 voters in Dokolo expressed their desire for Ambassador Paul Amoru to make a U-turn and join the 12th Parliament unopposed, with over 75 percent of the voters supporting this sentiment.

Aceng Sarah, a 43-year-old woman from Okwalongwen Sub-county, stated that Amoru is an extraordinary ambassador trusted by H.E Yoweri Museveni Kaguta, appointed as a Ugandan ambassador attached to South Africa, making him an all-around leader.




An 85-year-old elder from Iguli Parish, Dokolo District, recounted how Amoru Paul supported his family members in the past when he was still an MP. He shared how Amoru bailed out their family when they were unable to pay school fees for their son in S.4, covering the expenses from S.4 up to S.6. He promised to mobilize votes in Iguli and to vote massively for Amoru Paul in the 2026 parliamentary election.




A prominent trader from Dokolo Town Council, hailing from Dokolo North Constituency, pledged to donate two bulls to Amoru, citing his pro-business stance.




A media personality from one of the radio stations in Dokolo remarked that Amoru Paul has secured significant support in Dokolo and urged NRM to allow him to go unopposed in the NRM primaries, emphasizing the potential for development and service delivery in the district post-2026 election.

A 31-year-old youth from Angwecibange Ward in Dokolo Town Council asserted that Amoru is the engine of NRM in Dokolo and that no one should oppose him in the 2026 election, highlighting his close relationship with President Museveni.

Okello, an LC1 member of Dokolo North, expressed appreciation to Ambassador Amoru Paul for campaigning for the NRM Party flag bearer during the March 2024 Dokolo Woman MP Bye-election and for not supporting any independent candidate. He suggested that Amoru should be allowed to go unopposed by NRM party members.




An anonymous woman voiced concerns that some leaders in parliament are not fully representing their constituents during plenary and committee sessions, contrasting this with Amoru Paul’s active participation when he served as their MP.
