In a talent search competition held at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) on October 20, 2023, George William Mubiru and Lukia Babirye emerged as the winners of Mr and Miss MUBS 2023. The annual event, initiated by the university management, serves as a platform to showcase and promote the talents of its students.
This year marked the second edition of the contest, named “Mr And Miss MUBS season II.” The competition featured a total of seven female contestants and two male contestants, namely George William Mubiru and Prosper Arthur Makayi. Throughout the event, the participants displayed their talents in various categories, including fashion, dance, singing, and more.
Elijah Yunik, the organizer of the event, explained that the show typically takes place at the beginning of the first semester of the academic year, serving as a means of entertaining new students. The pageant is a project initiated by Juma Wasswa Balunywa, the son of MUBS Principal Balunywa Wasswa, with support from the university guild.
The winners, George William Mubiru and Lukia Babirye, have earned the titles of Mr and Miss MUBS 2023, showcasing their exceptional talents in this annual competition, which continues to be a noteworthy event at Makerere University Business School.
