Erik ten Hag, the coach of Manchester United, is unhappy with his team’s poor performance in the Premier League. They lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at home. This is the worst start for Manchester United in the Premier League since 1989/90.
Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen scored a goal in the first half, and this made the fans at Old Trafford very upset. Ten Hag said there are no excuses for their bad performance.
Ten Hag said, “I can give you reasons, but you will say it’s an excuse, and there are no excuses. We have to win. We need to be better and win games.”
Before this, Manchester United had not lost a home game in 31 matches. But recently, they were lucky to win against Wolves and Nottingham Forest. Ten Hag wants his team to perform better at Old Trafford.
“We have to show with our body language that Old Trafford is a strong place where no one can win,” added Ten Hag.
Even though Manchester United had 19 chances to score, they couldn’t find the net. Players like Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund, and Mason Mount missed their opportunities.
Coach Roy Hodgson of Crystal Palace was happy with his team’s performance. They became the first team to win five consecutive games at Old Trafford.
Hodgson said, “I am happy about the record, but I am most happy with how the team played today. It’s not easy to win here, and I’m pleased for the players.”
With this win, Crystal Palace moved ahead of Manchester United to the ninth position in the Premier League table.
