Super welterweight boxer Isaac Zebra Ssenyange Jr. is urging his fans to come out in full force to Nakivubo Stadium as he gears up for his first professional boxing title bout against Abbas Seguya. Ssenyange Jr., the son of the legendary Zebra ‘Mando’ Ssenyange, is part of a lineup of top athletes from various sports disciplines scheduled to participate in the official opening of the newly constructed Nakivubo Stadium on Saturday, June 1.

Expressing his excitement about the upcoming event, Ssenyange Jr. emphasized the significance of fighting on such a momentous occasion. He praised the opportunity provided by Hajji Hamis Kiggundu and highlighted the uniqueness of the event, not only in Uganda’s sports sector but also in terms of entertainment. Encouraging his fans nationwide to attend the event at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, Ssenyange Jr. urged them to witness his showdown with Seguya.

Ssenyange Jr., who transitioned to professional boxing on December 29, the same day his father was tragically killed in 2020, aims to surpass his father’s legacy, starting with his highly anticipated bout against Seguya at Nakivubo Stadium. With a track record of knocking out all three of his previous opponents in professional boxing, including notable names like Tanzania’s Alibaba Tarimo and Egyptian fighters Ibrahim Kandel and Ramy Mahdi, Ssenyange Jr. is poised for success.

His opponent, Abbas Seguya, has faced five professional fights, with only one loss against Farahat Manirola. Seguya is determined to challenge Ssenyange Jr. and is confident in his ability to secure victory. Anticipating a thrilling encounter, Seguya urged his fans to arrive early at the stadium to witness what he believes will be a knockout victory against Ssenyange Jr.

In addition to the headline bout between Ssenyange Jr. and Seguya, the event will feature other exciting boxing matchups, including lightweight Zahara Nandawula facing off against Flavia Babirye, and the highly anticipated kickboxing trilogy between Moses Golola and Umar Semata. The Nakivubo Stadium debut promises to be a memorable event for sports enthusiasts, with Ssenyange Jr.’s bout at the forefront of the action.
