Patrick Okidi, Amolatar – A popular, youthful LCV aspirant for Amolatar district has caused a stir among fellow aspirants as he joins the race to contest for Amolatar LCV Chairman in the 2026-2031 elections.
Osendru is a prominent radio personality working with Radio Unity 97.7 FM, based in Lira of the Lango sub-region. He is currently consulting with the people of Amolatar district while awaiting an official declaration of the campaign period by the Independent Electoral Commission of Uganda.
In an interview with the media held at St. Lira Hotel on August 21, 2024, Osendru expressed concerns about the poor service delivery in areas such as education and suspected misuse of road funds. He accused some leaders in Amolatar of lacking empathy for the people and engaging in illegal fishing activities and exaggerating the number of learners.
“To ensure better service delivery for the people of Amolatar district, I have decided to contest for the LCV Chairmanship,” Osendru stated. “I will be a voice for the voiceless, advocating for clean and safe water, improved health services, support for orphans and widows, and the fight against corruption.”
Voters Speak Out
A woman from Amolatar town council, who preferred to remain anonymous, told our reporter that Osendru Charles is the right person to vote for in the 2026 general election. She praised him as an all-around person, well-informed, and attentive to people’s concerns.
A 29-year-old woman from Amolatar town council described Osendru as honest, brilliant, vibrant, and influential, believing he can actively contribute to the district leadership.
An LC1 Chairperson of Agikdak sub-county commended Osendru for training many people in entrepreneurship skills and congratulated him for coming out to serve the people of Amolatar district.
Okello DD, a 69-year-old man from Kioga county, noted that Osendru’s lack of party affiliation would allow him to work effectively as a youthful LCV Chairman in Amolatar.
