Budadiri West Member of Parliament (MP) Nandala Mafabi has called for the arrest of all MPs on the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee. He made this statement in response to the committee’s approval of a 1.7 billion shillings Service Award for four Commissioners. Mafabi criticized this decision, stating that the only notable achievement of these Commissioners has been to secure lucrative staff positions for their relatives in Parliament.

Mafabi expressed his concerns while speaking to journalists after signing a motion to censure the Commissioners. He emphasized that during his 23 years in Parliament, no Commissioner has ever received a service award. Mafabi believes that the MPs on the Legal Committee should face arrest, similar to their counterparts on the Budget Committee, who are currently in police custody for their involvement in a corruption racket within Parliament.
