The NRM party officials and their candidate, Rose Kabagyeni, are intensifying their campaign efforts in Kisoro by holding town hall meetings to consolidate support ahead of a key visit by President Museveni.

(Kisoro) – Yesterday, the NRM party officials and their candidate, Rose Kabagyeni, organized town hall meetings across Kisoro’s five counties, marking a key step in their campaign strategy to solidify support. This initiative follows a series of large rallies, and the town hall engagements aim to bring party leaders together and ensure a united front for the NRM candidate in the upcoming elections.

During these meetings, officials from the NRM secretariat, Central Executive Committee members, and local legislators urged leaders of the party’s structures to rally behind Kabagyeni and ensure that every vote counts on election day. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, the NRM Deputy National Treasurer and head of the campaigns, addressed a crowd in Bufumbira South, encouraging local leaders to stick with the NRM’s flag bearer and safeguard the votes at every polling station.

“We urge you to vote for Kabagyeni and also make sure the votes are well protected at all polling stations,” Kyatuhaire stated. She emphasized the critical role that local leaders play in the election, especially in a district where the NRM seeks to maintain its stronghold. “We shall rely on you for information because you are well conversant with the terrain,” she continued, urging them to stay focused in the final days of the campaign.

As the party officials held their town hall meetings, Rose Kabagyeni continued her campaign trail across Kyanika town council, Chahi, and Nyakinama sub-counties. Kabagyeni focused her efforts on last-minute voter mobilisation, particularly on issues related to service delivery, empowerment projects, and the overall impact of NRM policies on improving livelihoods in the region.

“We cannot afford to divide our votes in this election to weaken our party,” Kabagyeni told her supporters. “I urge you to vote for the NRM because it is pro-people in its policies.”

Kabagyeni also used the opportunity to invite locals to the upcoming visit of President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM Chairman, who will be in Kisoro on Tuesday, November 12th. The visit will include an address at Ssaza grounds to further bolster support for Kabagyeni’s candidacy.
